Samba Decon – Footwear White/Core Black-Grey One
In an unexpected but ultimately genius move adidas update the Samba with a functional difference. This version features a deconstructed finish which sees the lining removed along with stiffeners around the heel. What results is a version with collapsible heel, allowing them to be worn as a slip-on – if you so desire.
Anyone familiar with the Samba’s football heritage can appreciate how valuable this can be for chucking them on after un-lacing your boots. For us though, it creates a version of the Samba for people too lazy to tie their shoe laces. The reduced padding also slims the silhouette down to a sock-like fit, which paired with the softer-than-original leathers make for a different feel on-foot.
Visually the shoes remain almost unchanged from the OG, save for a lighter shade of gum outsole. Whilst it might seem small, to a Samba purist this one detail is akin to a completely different shoe.
