Womens Field General 82 SP – Barely Volt/Dusty Cactus-Gum
Nike dug deep into the archives and whipped out with something we’re confident in saying came from left field. The Field General is a shoe taken straight off the gridiron fields of 1982 and thrust back into the limelight in 2024.
After 42 years it’s probably worth giving everyone a refresh on the specs—it’s unlikely you’ll remember these. Constructed from a combination of coarse nylon and a rubberised leather, the Field General is built tough for the sort of abuse it would’ve been copping on the wet astroturf of the NFL circuit. The black sole—whch contrasts the uppers in a way befitting of shoes decades younger—is equipped with a grid of lugs designed to offer maximum traction under the extreme circumstances a footballer would be facing during 60 minutes of fury.
We’re doubtful this reborn Field General will see the sort of action it was built to outlast, but maybe your weekends are a bit more action-packed—who knows?
