107 Ivy Selvedge Denim – 2 Year Wash
This is what orSlow refers to as their “Ivy Fit” – which might be a reference to Ivy League colleges, but in what way we’ll have to plead ignorance. They’re definitely slimmer than classic 105 cut though. They’re not skinny though, they would have been called “loose” in 2008 – when everyone wore stretchy painted-on jeans.
Construction and details are as you’d expect. External rivets reinforce the high-stress areas as they’ve done for over a century whilst hidden rivets strengthen the back pockets, which feature a simple arcuate. The fly is buttoned — zips never work that well on jeans we’ve found, and the denim is (of course) Japanese selvedge.
The 2 Year Wash is created for those of us who want to skip the years wearing a somewhat uncomfortable, stiff jeans that leave blue stains on everything in order to create a lovely patina. Let’s be honest, nobody is achieving this level of fade sitting on an office chair for 6hrs a day, so save yourself the pain and just get something that’s already there.
