Attack QS SP – White/Black-White
For the first time since it’s 1984 debut, the Mac Attack is BACK! As one of Tennis’ original rebels, John McEnroe had a record which was only eclipsed by his reputation. The only man to hold the world’s #1 ranking for both singles and doubles at the same time, he’s one of the greatest of all time. With all of that considered, it shows just how notorious he was as a character, given that almost everyone knows him as the bad boy. McEnroe’s on-court behaviour was contrary to the prim and proper behaviour which the sport has been best known for. His attitude was as fiery as his game and lord help any umpire or official who did our boy wrong.
Much like the player, the Mac Attack was out to cause trouble. Not unlike Michael Jordan’s famous “Banned” sneakers, the Mac Attack eschewed the white sneaker policy of tennis to bring a grey and black sneaker to the court. Whilst we don’t talk about the Mac Attack in the same way we do the Jordan 1, for those who know it’s an iconic silhouette.
