Gazelle Indoor – Aluminum/Core Black-Gum
Whether on the feet of Kate Moss; the Beastie Boys; Björk or any number of fashionable people of the last 50+ years, the adidas Gazelle remains an icon itself. Their simple suede uppers with white stripes have become the archetypical adidas design since first releasing in 1966.
Compared with the original ’66 release, 1979’s Gazelle Indoor sported a slightly different upper with a wider toebox. If you know anything about old Gazelles then you’ll know this is a welcome design change. The biggest visual differentiator is the translucent cup sole which was originally designed to optimise traction for hardwood floors.
