GEL-NYC x HIDDEN NY – White/Jolly Green
We now live in an era where internet moodboards run by anonymous admins are some of the most influential entities in the fashion industry. Of those entities, the page HIDDEN NY stands tall as one of the most far-reaching and influential of them all.
With such a following it has been rare that HIDDEN has collaborated with outside brands, instead preferring to create custom pieces and their own in-house merchandise. This time however Hidden NY allows ASICS to become part of an exclusive club with this collaborative GEL-NYC.
Using the signature HIDDEN colour scheme of white and green, the design is kept largely simple—a common choice for HIDDEN products. The heel houses the imprint’s recognisable â“— symbol outlined with the bounding box which anyone with Adobe Suite experience will immediately recognise. This digitally-informed detail is echoed in the “transparency mat” checkerboard pattern insole and pixelated effect on the side stripes.
