Lacombe Spzl – Core White/Collegiate Navy
One of the earlier styles from the adidas SPZL range, launched in 2016—the Lacombe quickly became one of the range’s most successful silhouettes before being retired. It’s back again for 2024 as SPZL celebrates 10 years.
The Lacombe SPZL was inspired by a rare archival court shoe designed for tennis player John Newcombe. The latest version uses a softer leather than the 2016 version, along with introducing patent leather accents which were left off the ’16 to keep the silhouette more conservative. For 2024 the patent is back, just like on the original French-made tennis shoes of the era, along with a new mesh tongue which helps with breathability.
