Originally launched right before the turn of the new millenium, the New Balance 1000 is a model which looks exactly like you’d think a shoe from 1999 would look. Its swooping upper and complex midsole tooling are a far-cry from the simple footwear which has been saturating the footwear market of late.
That chunky midsole features New Balance’s signature ABZORB cushioning which continues to show how ahead of it’s time it really was. One of the signature details of the M1000 is the novel heel ‘collar’ support which cradles your achilles and creates a secure fit.
