M1906RL1 x Aimé Leon Dore
In the sneaker industry, the past few years have belonged to New Balance and Teddy Santis. Though his New York label Aimé Leon Dore, Santis has put out some of the most in-demand sneaker and clothing releases of the current era. Heavily inspired by classic “preppy” styles of brands like Brooks Brothers, Polo Ralph Lauren and the golden era of mens fashion, Santis has spearheaded the NY fashion scene’s resurgence in popular culture.
This time, Aimé Leon Dore applies their signature Ivy League aesthetics to the 1906R whilst embracing the mid-2000s heritage of the model. Whilst we’re used to seeing ALD releases finished in rich hairy and supple leathers, the 1906 utilises the similar synthetic materials to those which featured on the original. The Aimé Leon Dore influence definitely remains in the colour palette though, with a soft white base accented with tones of varsity green along with hints of rose gold.
