Spizike Low PRM – Varsity Maize/Black-Wolf Grey
If you were to ask us what an 18 year-old sneaker would look like, we’d probably tell you to look at a Huarache LE or a Jordan VI—the reality however is far more sobering for middle-aged people like us. Originally released in 2006, the Jordan Spiz’ike celebrates being old-enough to legally drink in Australia. Absolute scenes.
This low-cut version of the in-house hybrid sneaker wears a coat of bright yellow in homage to the Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ which itself also released in 2006—maybe Jordan was up-to-something with this one? The Spizike’s signature is the fact it combines pieces from a whole host of iconic Jordan silhouettes from the period which saw Mars Blackmon (Spike Lee) and Michael Jordan making some of the franchise’s most iconic ad campaigns. Look closely and you’ll see everything from Jordan 3 to Jordan 5 and even a bit of Jordan 6 as well.
